Seen from above Hvar Town, the Pakleni Islands look like an easy escape. On the water, their scale becomes more personal: a pine-framed shore, a lunch terrace, the sound of a boat pulling away. The secret is not to see every bay. It is to choose one well.

Choose a destination, not a vague ticket

Palmižana is an area on Sveti Klement, not the name of the entire archipelago. Marinkovac is another island with its own bays and different atmospheres. Before paying for a transfer, confirm the actual landing point, walking route and return arrangements. A marina, beach and restaurant may not share the same arrival point. [1][2]

Match the boat to the day

A shared taxi boat can suit a simple out-and-back visit; a licensed skippered trip offers a different kind of flexibility. Routes, prices and operation vary with season and sea conditions. Do not assume a generic boat-rental advertisement establishes that you are qualified to operate the vessel. [1]

Plan the return before the swim

Agree on the last return or pickup before going ashore and keep the operator’s contact details. Allow a buffer before any onward ferry. On windy days, accept a changed route or cancellation rather than pressing for a promised photograph. Carry drinking water, sun protection and a way to take your rubbish back. [1]
